MICHAELA Size 5-6 Doll Wigs
These little brown wigs fit our Ginny reproduction doll perfectly. They are factory leftover wigs that were originally made for the Helen Kish Michaela doll. These wigs are UNFINISHED... they need a little trimming and styling. Which was very easy to do... I put some water and a little bit of spray conditioner on the wig and combed it, let it dry, then put it on the doll with glue, and trimmed it as needed. These photos show Ginny wearing the wig before I trimmed it. I clipped the bangs for these photos but that's all. You can see that the wig fits nice and has good shape even before I did the final styling:
If you want a short bob or shoulder length hair it's extremely easy. The Helen Kish Michaela doll has a short bob hairstyle. The wig has plenty of hair, so I curled the wig to give it that vintage look. I'm not very handy with miniatures so it wasn't very easy for me - but even I managed to do it... I used pieces of drinking straws as rollers, held on with lots of bobby pins and hair gel.
So, these are "do it yourself" wigs... and they are definitely worth the effort because they are beautifully made. The fiber seems to be natural hair of some kind. It's very fine, soft hair that looks nice on Ginny, or other dolls with a size 5-6" head size. These wigs are HAND-KNITTED... which is the European way of saying that they are made by hand and some of the hair strands are sewn in individually, especially on the crown or top of the wig. Those of you who are creative will appreciate what a nice bargain this is for designer quality wigs. Please understand that it's up to YOU to finish the wigs.
These wigs are a closeout special purchase item of factory leftovers. Therefore, sales are final. We do inspect the wigs to make sure there are no flaws. |
