Pick Stick. This little tool has a teeny flat spoon on the end. It's very useful for doing fine delicate work such as placing eyelashes on your doll.

I use this tool for hair thatching. A doll's hair is "woven" or thatched wherever there is a part in the head rooting. The hairs are cross-thatched: one hair goes left, the next hair goes right, the next hair goes left, the next hair goes right... etc.

Hair thatching is an extremely tedious project but sometimes it's the only way to restore the hairdo on a vintage doll so she looks like new. Baby Face Natalie, Baby Face Sandi and Baby Face Robyn are three dolls that come to mind.

This little pick stick with it's teeny tiny spoon helps me pick the hairs apart and move them where I want. You can also use a toothpick, but this tool is better.

The pickstick also has a slender blade on one end. The blade isn't especially sharp, I don't use it as a blade although you could. The flat blade is useful for lifting pieces of hair, also.
