Pattern J for Jointed Cloth Doll Bodies
This sewing pattern is for 16" cloth doll bodies or 21" doll bodies such as the Berenguer LaBaby dolls. And there is a also pattern to make doll bodies for a large 24" doll, such as the Apple Valley toddlers. It has three different patterns to make jointed cloth bodies for dolls with partial vinyl limbs, as shown in the photos.
The patterns have cloth arms and legs which are jointed using plastic doll joints. Cable Ties attach the arms and legs and head to the vinyl doll pieces. This body has a beautiful sleek design with good proportions.
You will need two 35mm joints and two 45mm joints for the 16" body style. The 21" LaBaby needs two 45mm joints and two 55mm joints for each doll body. (The joints are also in the doll shop.)
The body for the 20" LaBaby dolls wears Preemie size clothing when the doll is finished. The photo shows that the doll has natural proportions.
This large body pattern fits the Apple Valley vinyl doll kits as well as other 22" vinyl doll body kits. It will also work for the large 20" Lots to Cuddle dolls.

When finished, the doll will wear 0-3 months or 3-6 month size infant clothing, depending on the fit of the clothing. STUFFING. Doll bodies can be stiff for sitting dolls or floppy for sleeping babies, depending on the kinds of stuffing used. If you use mostly polyester fiberfill, with some beanbags for weight then the doll sits very well, as shown in the photos. If you use mostly the plastic beans for fill and weighting, then the dolls will be more floppy if it's not packed tight. REBORNS & RESTORATION SITE.
