Pattern-V for All-Vinyl Dolls

PATTERN-V is a five-in-one sewing pattern that is specifically for ALL VINYL dolls or Doll Kits will Full Vinyl Limbs.

There are four sizes in this pattern, which make cloth bodies for 14-inch dolls, 16-inch dolls, 17-inch dolls, and 21-inch dolls. Does not require doll joints: the vinyl arms, legs and head of the doll will be attached to the cloth body using cable ties.

These cloth bodies allow the arms and legs to move easily, because special pleats at the shoulders and hips allow more freedom of movement. The arms are especially poseable: they can be moved forward and backward, up or down and if the cable ties are not too snug then the arms can rotate also. The finished doll is very poseable and flexible. It has almost as much freedom of movement as the cloth-jointed doll bodies.

The finished doll is soft, cuddly and the arms and legs move and flop.

SIZE & CLOTHING: The body for the 21 dolls wears Preemie or Newborn size clothing when the doll is finished. The doll in the photo (left side) is wearing a size small Onesie.

SIZE & CLOTHING: The reborn artists have asked for more flexibility and movement in the doll body. And, they also asked for a doll body that would stretch the 17; dolls to a preemie size. Pattern-V has both. Our 17 inch doll is shown wearing a preemie size Onesie, which is a very good fit.

SIZE & CLOTHING: The 15 inch dolls are not as common. Pattern-V has a smaller body just for these little cuties, and the doll is still able to wear a preemie size Onesie as shown in the photo.

SIZE & CLOTHING: This 14-inch Lots to Love asian doll is a chubby cutie with a chunkier doll body. This 14-inch doll body wears doll clothes. It is too small for infant clothing.
The 14-inch body will work with Berenguer's First Expressions dolls. Or, you can use the 15-inch body, above, if you want a longer torso on the doll.

THE WRINKLED RUMP: All the Pattern-V doll bodies have the wrinkled rump, which is easily stitched in with 1/4 inch elastic. This feature helps to give shape and definition to the baby's rear.

STUFFING.The doll bodies can be stiff for sitting dolls or floppy for sleeping babies, depending on the kinds of stuffing used. If you use mostly polyester fiberfill, with some beanbags for weight then the doll sits very well, as shown in the photos. If you use more of the plastic beans for fill and weighting, then the dolls will be more floppy. We also recommend shredded foam for cuddly dolls.
