Crushed Velvet Tops Size Small
For dolls or bears! These velvet tops are finished and ready to wear, as tops over skirts or pants. Or under a jacket or sweater. They are very nice and dressy as is.
This page is for size SMALL, which measures 8 inches around the chest (under the armpits) and 2 inches from center front neckline to bottom edge.
We think these tops are even better when used for holiday dresses! All you have to do is add fabric or lace as a skirt, tie a ribbon around the waist, and your dolls are adorable for holiday displays. If the waist is a little too roomy for your slender doll, then a bit of elastic around the middle can nip it in. If the waist is too short for your long doll, then insert a ribbon waistband to lengthen the bodice.
There are a zillion ways to convert these lovely velvet tops into gorgeous holiday gowns, and with very little work involved! We all know that making the bodice is the hard part, and the boring part!
And, they're not just for Christmas! Red is perfect for Valentines dresses. Green will give you a head start on St. Patty's day gowns. And the dark navy blue is just what dolly needs for her first violin recital. These velvet tops will work year 'round for all our special occasions.
The dresses are very sweet on infant dolls, as well. We used approximately 2 yards of lace on this dress, which is the size Large velvet top. Medium needs a little more than one yard, and the small gowns will need less than one yard of lace. Of course, if the fabric or ribbon is sheer and lightweight, you'll need more.
Whether you decorate these velvet tops or use them as is, they are still a bargain. Fasten with velcro in back. This page is for 3 size SMALL velvet tops (one of each color red, green and navy.) SMALL measures 7 inches around the chest (under the armpits) and 2 inches from center front neckline to bottom edge. There may be a little variation in these measurements.
