Mei Mei from China

Mei Mei is part of the Children of the World series by Precious Moments. She is from China. This is a sweet little 9" dolly, with her satin embroidered pants and tunic. She wears black shoes. Black rooted hair. Mei Mei has white jasmine flowers in her hair. She is a vinyl doll, jointed at shoulders, hips and neck.

The name "Mei" means "Beautiful" in the Chinese Mandarin language. It is also the Chinese word symbol for America, which is interesting... the Chinese people call America the "Beautiful Land."

The month of May is special for the Chinese because it is springtime. It is considered a lucky time, a month for good luck. Mei Mei is also an endearing term that you might call a child, such as Honey or Sweetie.
