These unique little girls are 9" resin dolls created by renowned artist and illustrator Gay Talbot Boassy, who is primarily known for her romantic illustrations of little girls and children. These three dolls are part of a series that included 8 or 10 dolls, I'm not sure how many were part of the set. The series was named "Tiny Tender Toddlers."
These Boassy dolls are SOE, which means they are a "Sold Out Edition" and are hard to find. That's why we were so happy we could get Jing Wei and her friends as part of our Asian doll collection. These dolls are more for display than play, but they are sturdy so they can be dressed and posed for fun dollhouse displays.
The dolls come with their outfits as shown. Each of the girls has shoes and socks to wear, also. I like their cute little feet so I took the shoes off for photos.
The dolls are all-body resin with strung jointed head and limbs. Because they are resin dolls, they are very heavy for their size. The bodies are interesting to study because they look as if they are individually hand-crafted from clay or fimo.
Portia holds her little straw nest with baby bluebirds in it. She is a dreamy girl who is very tenderhearted. Jing Wei comes with her red book bag and an armload of books. Jing Wei is a serious, solemn girl who is always dependable and helpful. Siti comes with her teddy bear. She is a pleasant child, with a happy face and loving disposition.
Original retail price was $69.00 each
