This "Wishes & Dreams" Patsy doll is made of porcelain. Most of the 14" Patsy dolls are vinyl. Porcelain Patsy is painted or glazed all over, there is no bare porcelain. I haven't seen porcelain dolls made like this but it gives the "skin" a richer surface appearance than cold bare porcelain. Very attractive skintone!

Patsy was originally made as a molded hair composition doll. Tonner has upgraded her for a new generation, giving Patsy soft silky hair and adding stars to her eyes for a special sparkle.

Patsy is a vintage reproduction made with the gorgeous Tonner vinyl. (Robert Tonner bought the Effanbee company.) Patsy is fully jointed and strung in the old fashioned manner. Patsy was introduced by Effanbee as a composition doll in the 1930's. I don't think she was ever made in vinyl or porcelain until Tonner resurrected this charming classic that has been adored by doll collectors for 75 years or more.
